About the Prints

These photographs are produced as collector-level pieces: built for presence on the wall, made with archival materials, and released in small, fixed editions. This page explains the two print presentations, how they're constructed, how to care for them, and what "limited edition" means here.

At a glance

Every image is offered in one of two primary presentations. The goal is simple: match the photograph and your space with the material that shows it best.

  • ChromaLuxe Metal (dye-infused aluminum)
Clean, modern, and durable. Excellent for high-traffic spaces and rooms with humidity swings.
  • LumaChrome Acrylic (face-mounted)
The most luminous presentation, with depth and dimensionality. Best in spaces where you can control lighting and reflections.

Materials

ChromaLuxe Metal prints

Metal prints are produced by infusing dyes directly into a coated aluminum panel. The result is crisp detail, rich color, and a surface built to live confidently in everyday environments.

  • Look: clean, contemporary, high-detail
  • Strength: durable surface, easy to maintain
  • Best for: modern interiors, hallways, kitchens, cabins, and spaces that get used

LumaChrome Acrylic prints

Acrylic prints are face-mounted pieces designed for depth and presence. The image sits behind acrylic, creating a luminous "window" effect that pulls you into the scene.

  • Look: depth, dimensionality, gallery presence
  • Strength: premium presentation with protective surface options
  • Best for: curated spaces, feature walls, offices, and rooms with controlled lighting

If you're deciding between them, choose metal for toughness and versatility, and acrylic for maximum visual impact.

Acrylic construction

Acrylic prints are assembled as a layered object, not a single flat sheet. Each layer serves a purpose: stability, clarity, and long-term presentation.

  • Front layer: optically clear acrylic
  • Image: face-mounted to acrylic for depth and sharpness
  • Backer: rigid support panel to keep the piece true
  • Finish options: select pieces may include anti-reflective acrylic and/or protective coatings depending on the presentation

This construction is why acrylic prints feel dimensional in a room. They don't just show an image, they create presence.

Longevity and archival intent

These prints are made with permanence in mind. Materials are selected for stability, and the processes used are widely recognized for long display life when properly cared for. Many ChromaLuxe dye-infused metal prints are associated with longevity testing (including Wilhelm Imaging Research) under specified display conditions.

No print is indestructible, but with normal indoor display and basic care, these are built to be lived with and passed on.

Limited editions and provenance

Every photograph is released in a small, fixed edition. When the edition closes, that image is retired. It will not be reprinted in that presentation and size. New work replaces old, and the archive stays clean.

Certificate of Authenticity: Each limited edition piece includes a COA that documents the image title, edition number, size, material, and artist attribution. For collectors, the COA is part of the work's provenance. Keep it with your purchase records.

Display and care

Display

Scale matters. Large prints change a room because they hold the viewer at a human distance. If you're considering a custom size or want guidance on placement, choose the photograph first, then match the presentation to the space.

  • Lighting: avoid direct, harsh sunlight; angle lighting to reduce glare (especially for acrylic)
  • Environment: normal indoor conditions are ideal; metal is the more forgiving option for variable rooms

Cleaning

  • Metal: soft microfiber cloth; gentle cleaner if needed; avoid abrasives
  • Acrylic: microfiber only; acrylic-safe cleaner; avoid ammonia-based glass cleaners and rough towels

Print FAQ

What does "face-mounted acrylic" mean?

It means the photograph is mounted directly behind acrylic so the image appears to sit inside the material. This creates depth, clarity, and a luminous, gallery-style presence.

Are metal prints the same as dye-sublimation prints?

Yes. ChromaLuxe metal prints are typically produced through a dye-infusion process where dyes are transferred into a coated aluminum surface, resulting in crisp detail and strong durability.

Will sold-out editions ever be reprinted?

No. When an edition closes, the photograph is retired in that presentation and size. The edition remains closed permanently.

How do I choose between metal and acrylic?

Choose metal for everyday durability and versatility across many rooms. Choose acrylic when you want maximum depth and impact, and you can control lighting and reflections.

How should I clean the surface?

Use a clean microfiber cloth. For acrylic, use an acrylic-safe cleaner and avoid ammonia-based products. For metal, a gentle cleaner is fine, but avoid abrasives.
